UCB Dedicates Its Rowen Site for a $2B Biologics Campus

On October 9, 2026, UCB dedicated the Rowen site where its roughly $2 billion U.S. biologics manufacturing campus will rise in eastern Gwinnett. The dedication added firm numbers: about 330 permanent jobs, more than 1,000 construction jobs and roughly $5 billion in projected economic impact.

The dedication

On October 9, 2026, UCB, the Brussels-based biopharmaceutical company, dedicated the site at Rowen where its roughly $2 billion U.S. biologics manufacturing campus will be built in eastern Gwinnett County. The event, held with state, county and partner officials, put concrete numbers on a project the original announcement left open: about 330 permanent jobs and more than 1,000 construction jobs, with roughly $5 billion in projected economic impact, figures Gwinnett officials cite as the largest capital investment in county history.

A site dedication is a construction milestone, not a ribbon cutting: it marks the point where the land is formally committed to the build, and the project moves from selection into site work. The earlier note on UCB picking Rowen, filed in March, carries the project's origins and the long-horizon read.

Where it sits

Rowen is the planned roughly 2,000-acre knowledge community off Georgia Highway 316 between Dacula and Auburn. The Rowen brief carries the running account of the build-out, and the project's practical commute shed points at Dacula, Auburn and Winder, the same towns that anchor the relocation guide for the GA 316 and I-85 corridors.

The measured read

The new numbers are the useful part of this update: about 330 permanent jobs and more than 1,000 construction jobs are the first concrete job figures attached to the project, and they firm up what was previously reported only as hundreds of high-wage roles. Even so, the timeline is unchanged. A biologics campus is built, validated and staffed on a multi-year schedule, and housing demand follows the jobs, not the ceremony.

The housing read stays the one this site has used all along: buy inside the practical commute ring at a price the comps support, and let the build-out do its work quietly in the background.
