The announcement
On August 14, 2026, Governor Brian Kemp announced that DeltaX, a South Korea-based provider of battery energy storage solutions, will establish its North American headquarters and manufacturing operations in Monroe, Walton County. The project is roughly $141 million and about 250 jobs, beginning with a 100,000-square-foot assembly plant.
The announcement was made jointly with the Georgia Department of Economic Development and local partners, and positions Monroe as the company's base for its North American battery energy storage business.
Where it sits on the map
Monroe sits on the western edge of the corridor's service map, on State Route 10 and US 78 southwest of Athens, and it is the anchor of Walton County, one of the counties this site tracks against the I-85 and 316 corridors.
The Monroe brief carries the local account, and the relocation guide keeps the running employer table for the region.
The measured read
A 250-job advanced manufacturing headquarters is a meaningful addition to a county that has been quieter on the industrial front than its I-85 neighbors, and battery storage is one of the sectors the state has been courting hard.
It is also a reminder that the corridor's job growth is not one highway: the 316 and US 78 lines are building their own employer base, which matters for buyers who work along either route.
