On May 28, 2026, the Hall County Board of Commissioners voted unanimously to rezone a property at the site of the former Global Car Mex Autosales off Gainesville Highway, or Georgia 13, near the Hall-Gwinnett county line. The developer, Taylor & Mathis, a Cobb County real estate group, sought the change from agricultural-residential to light industrial for a 161,676-square-foot warehouse and distribution center.
The intended use is auto parts, mostly shocks, struts and coils bound for dealerships and repair shops, though the building could hold any light industrial use the county permits. The tenant has not been named in public reporting.
Why it matters locally
This is the most local announcement of this run. The site sits on the boundary with Mulberry, a short drive from the city, and it is another warehouse floor added to the corridor's distribution base near the I-85 and Georgia 13 routes that Mulberry sits beside.
