The short answer
Can I sell my home in any condition? The answer is yes. However what are you trying to sell it for? If you're trying to sell it for top dollar, the answer is no.
If you don't present your house in the best possible light, potential buyers will turn their nose up at this house. The end result will be lower overall offers, if any offers at all, and/or offers with many contingencies in there.
Why condition matters
It's likely you will attract more investors and investors always want to make money off a seller's either inability or unwillingness to present the home in its best possible light. Condition plays a huge part in the ultimate sale price of a home.
The three parts to a sale
The three parts to a sale are:
- Price
- Condition
- Marketability
Price + condition + marketability = a sale. Any of those three items, if they're not up to par, will result in a lower sale price.
The bottom line
If you're asking whether you can sell a home in any condition, the answer is yes. Just need to price it for the condition that it's worth.
