A recent reply to our team called us scammers. I take that seriously.
There are so many scams around that the question deserves a straight answer, not a defensive one.
Here is the truth about cash offers, and what separates a legitimate one from a scam.
Why the question is fair
Real estate attracts scammers because the money is large and the process is unfamiliar to most sellers. The caution people carry into this conversation is healthy, and it is earned.
That is exactly why a legitimate offer should be easy to verify. If it is not, walk away.
What separates a legitimate cash offer from a scam
The cash offer platform is built around many bona fide buyers, not one anonymous stranger. These are real buyers, ready to purchase homes, and they are on the platform to do business.
More important: those buyers disclose their terms as part of every offer. You see who is buying, what is being offered, and the terms attached, in writing, before you agree to anything.
A scam hides. A legitimate offer shows its work.
What a real offer should look like
- The buyer is bona fide and identified, not anonymous.
- The buyer's terms are disclosed as part of the offer, in writing.
- You have room to review, ask questions and take your time.
- The process runs through licensed real estate professionals.
How to protect yourself
Ask for the terms in writing. Ask who the buyer is. Ask what happens at closing. A legitimate buyer answers those questions directly.
If an offer is vague, rushed or secretive, that is your answer. The same standard applies to any real estate deal, cash or financed.
I would rather a seller ask hard questions than sign in a hurry. The concern behind the scammer comment is legitimate, and the answer is transparency: real buyers, disclosed terms, and no pressure.
Bring me the offer and the questions. I will walk you through what is real and what is not, no obligation.
See how a real cash offer works
Cash offers raise real questions, and they deserve real answers. Ask me anything before you decide.
